This article was quite different from what I expected it to be. The title “Consider the Lobster” interested me, but I was still unsure of what the focus of it would be on besides the obvious topic of a lobster. I listened to the audio version of this article; hearing it read word for word by the author makes it a more unique experience. I was able to hear Wallace’s experience at the Maine Lobster Festival come alive. His words were so relatable for me as I heard him describe places I have visited before, such as Camden and Rockland. Within the first few minutes I had made the assumption that the storyline was all about the Festival, but I soon came to realize it was actually about whether the process of cooking a lobster is ethical or not. I really enjoyed this opportunity to learn more about all that goes into the boiling of a lobster. I am a firm believer in being educated about our choices and their affects. I would not want to push anybody to do something my way, which is what I like about this article. I felt it was informative, but allowed for the reader to form their own opinions.
