This specific chapter was very interesting, in my opinion. The fact that the authors of this book chose to devote an entire chapter to the human body means it must have an influence in all of the varying genres. I was very intrigued to read the section labeled “fat pride”. It made me realize that major newspapers are now publishing articles on this up and coming topic. I like that there are non-traditional pieces of writing, like this, circulating on the internet. I feel it shows the positive evolution of body image. Fortunately, our society is going from fat shaming to fat pride. This is now being reflected in literature. There are also other ways that our bodies are moving more into the writing world. Health is a big genre in writing these days. The topic of health is becoming very popular on blogs seeing as many people want to learn how to better care for their bodies. They focus on how to create healthy lifestyles. Bloggers can create recipes to post. They can share different workouts on their blogs. Our bodies play a surprisingly big role in inspiring writing. I believe this is all due to our desire for body acceptance to be universal in our modern society.
